“But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”Hebrews 1:13-14 KJV
“And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Ephesians 2:6 KJV
God has raised us up together with Christ and has given us angels who help and assist us in our faith walk. Although we may not see the angels , by faith we know they are assisting us to live a life consistent with the will of God.
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.” Psalms 91:11-12 KJV
These angels have been given responsibility by God to participate with us in all our affairs. It is important that we awaken this consciousness in us because it will enrich our walk with God. Some of the battles we’ve been trying to overcome will be easier because of the help of angels. They are loyal to the cause and advancement of the kingdom of God.
Angels though invisible, can interfere in this material world because of us:
“Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp. And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down. And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice. Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel? And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.” 2 Kings 6:8-12 KJV
“And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:16-17 KJV
If believers can have an understanding of the spiritual company they have, they would not be afraid of some things. The king of Syria came with his army to arrest Elisha the servant of God, but Elisha had an understanding of the company he had. He was surrounded by chariots of fire, only Elisha saw the chariots. He had an encounter of this company of chariots when he witnessed the ascension of Elijah. Remember Elijah was the prophet of fire and Elisha wanted a double portion of that anointing, so he encountered angels of fire in Elijah’s ministry.
The ministry of angels that he encountered was a by product of his walk with God when he served Elijah. God empowered Elijah with the company of angels of fire, his assignment required peculiar assistance. We can see that all the exploits Elisha had were a by product of the revelation he had of angels as ministering spirits. The angels of the Lord were at his service. He was confident to say the spiritual help he had was more potent than the Syrian army. When Elisha prayed that God should open the young man’s eyes, his eyes were opened to see the horses and chariots of fire so he could relate with the help God had offered.
“And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.” 2 Kings 6:18-20 KJV
We need to understand that the assistance we have is spiritual not physical. Our spiritual help is so powerful and no might of man or any spiritual power can match the number of the spiritual assistance we have.
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”Revelation 12:7-11 KJV
We are the generation that will humiliate the powers of darkness. We have come to the company of angels that humbles the powers of the wicked one. We need to learn how to relate with this spiritual assistance from God. My prayer for you is that the eyes of your understanding will be opened and you will be able to relate with the provisions of God by faith. Though we have an invincible company, their impact is unmatched in this material world. There are examples of angels who fought battles, destroyed the works of darkness and humiliated the powers of the wicked one. Angels are ministering spirits sent to minister to those who are heirs of salvation. You don’t have to see them before you believe they exist, God’s word says they are available to minister for the heirs of salvation( YOU!).
“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”— John 20:29 KJV
It’s important for you to learn how to relate with these realities by faith. It is by your permission that they impact the material world and enforce the will of God over the affairs of man.
Ways that Angels work:
1. They operate discreetly and do everything to bring glory to God. They don’t draw attention to themselves rather in all things they bring glory to the Lord and they don’t desire the worship of saints. “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,” Colossians 2:18 KJV
“And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:9-10 KJV
Don’t forget that the devil is a fallen angel, in his fallen state he insisted that Jesus should fall down and worship him and Jesus reminded him that we only worship and serve God not angels.
“And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.”Revelation 22:8-9 KJV
Can you see, the angel told John to worship God, only demons (or angels in their fallen state) desire the worship of man.
2. Angels observe the saints and admire us. They obey the saints because when they look at us they see Christ in us. God commanded the angels to worship Jesus.
“And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” Hebrews 1:6 KJV
We are joint heirs with Christ and seated in heavenly places in Christ.
“…….. for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” 1 Corinthians 4:9 KJV
We are made a spectacle unto the world, men and angels. Angels are observing us and they love the atmospheres that are consistent with the will of God.
“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:22-24 KJV
This is our new realm, we have a spiritual company that observes and watches over us. We are not alone and they that are with us are more than those who are with the wicked. He gives his angels charge over us and they keep us in all our ways.
3. They communicate God’s message . The word Angel means messenger, they communicate God’s truth to people. They are spiritual agents that convey God’s mind to his people. They operate within the confines of God’s instructions.
“And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.” Genesis 21:17 KJVIshmael cried out and the Lord heard him and the angel ministered to Hagar. He told her not to be fearful . It’s normal to be afraid when we enter into encounters that we’ve never known before.
“And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Luke 2:9-15 KJV
Their spiritual understanding was opened and they could see that there was a host that brought the message to them. The company of angels that you have is huge and enormous. Don’t be afraid of people who connect demonic powers, the devil only took a third of the angels but there are two thirds still serving the purposes of God.
Our angels engage with a higher sacrifice which is the blood of Jesus. There is no sacrifice in heaven or earth that can match the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The angels of the Lord overcome by the blood of the lamb. The angels of the Lord are still engaging supernaturally based on the provision of the blood of Jesus.
In any difficult situation your spiritual assistance is greater than the source behind the spiritual oppression you face.We have access to innumerable angels because we are seated with Christ Jesus in the heavenly realms. There is no angel seated in the same place as Christ but we are by the providence of redemption. We are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, the angels of God are observing us as we fulfill the will of God on earth. We shouldn’t be afraid of the kingdom of darkness and operate in unbelief, but rather by faith receive the ministry of angels that enforces the will of God.
Prayer:God would open the eyes of our understanding, not just to see angels but to understand these realities that birth faith in all the provisions of God. God is able to open our eyes so we can agree in spirit with his provisions and relate with these truths. We are the heirs of salvation who have come to the company of innumerable angels who watch over us and minister to us. Hallelujah!
